Which one of us is the mean/rude one?

So today I met some friends of a friend for the first time. Immediately they started insulting me, calling me 'Ape boy', insulting my hair and so forth. I've no idea why. They just started insulting me even though I'd not spoken to them or anything before. It ended up with me getting really annoyed and so I threatened to stab them all (I'm a bit of a psychopath). Then they started calling me mean and rude. I argued that they were the mean ones for being so mean in the first place. Just wondering, in your opinions, who is the mean/rude one(s)?
