Need help on finding a movie please help?

i really want to see a film that i saw when i was a kid but i cant remember the name. all i can remember is that this boy at the beginning falls into some kind of whirlpool and he went to some place were i think there were monkeys or apes or something in what i can only remember as a wood or forest i remember that 1 of them had some big rings as weapons like the other monkey/apes had different weapons. thats all i can remember please please please help. thanks
