How could a gorilla pull a mans eyelashes out with its teeth?

Someone answered a question on this about apes and said a male gorilla at a zoo pulled a man who was in the cage to interact with the apes eyelashes with its teeth how is thi possible eyelashes arent that long but why would it do that i know it was a trick it played becos the person telling this said but why that lol?
