What is the comercial and public exchange rate for stirling to euro?

I'm going on holiday next week to Europe and decided to ask my bank about charges of withdrawing money. The charge is 2%, however they also said that due to the 'commercial' exchange rate being better than the 'public' exchange rate this charge will be some what negligible. Does anyone know if this is correct? IE what the commercial and public exchange rates are right now?
