Were we created by Aliens (extraterrestrials)?

People have spoken that the missing link between apes and humans is Alien intervention. Not that they had sex with apes or any of that sort but DNA manipulation. It is said that they grab fragments of an apes DNA and combine them with their own to create the first human being known as "Adame". If we scrutinize our selves a bit, we don't look like monkeys but rather some sort of a hybrid between ape like and something else that we can seem to find on this planet. Just wondering what your opinion might be on this subject.
