Is light a particle?As few experiment say it is...?

i have known that there is a research that claims light is a particle.But i don't think so because if light was particle it should have a negligible mass.But a law claims that mass can neither be created nor destroyed.and so black surface absorb light and heat.So if it absorb light(if particle) it should get heavy.But it does not.If a light strike me its momentum(product of mass and velocity should tend to make me fall when i stand in a room which is lit bright. So how can we consider light a particle it should be nothing other than a electromagnetic wave. Am i right...
